Building an HRMS and Remote IT Support Portal with .NET and SQL Server

ShellRack designed a custom HRMS and remote IT support portal for a small organization that needed one structured location for employee, HR and IT information.

The business requirement

Employee information was distributed across separate records and operational processes. The organization needed a central application that could maintain personal details, HR information, assigned IT assets and authorized remote-support access.

Solution architecture

The portal was developed using .NET and Microsoft SQL Server. The application separates employee records into logical areas so HR and IT information can be maintained without forcing every user to work with the same data.

Core portal modules

  • Employee master record: identity, contact and organizational information.
  • HR details: employment information and administrative records.
  • IT details: assigned system, device, software and support references.
  • Remote support: controlled VNC access workflow for authorized systems.
  • Database layer: structured Microsoft SQL Server storage for consistent retrieval and reporting.

Security and operational considerations

Remote access should always be restricted to authorized users, protected with strong credentials and recorded through an approved support process. Employee personal data should be visible only to roles that need it, and application/database backups should be included in the operating plan.

Outcome

The organization gained a central HR and IT operations portal that simplifies record maintenance and gives support teams a clearer route to identify the employee, assigned system and authorized support method.

What this project demonstrates

The project shows how ShellRack can combine business-process understanding, application development, SQL database design and IT support workflows in one practical solution.
